Abstract

Have people of Bosnia and Herzegovina, perhaps more than anyone else, been deceived by the term of virtual reality that's imposing itself as perfect - the author stated his opinion believing that it's become part of the political discourse!? Could that be the reason that the public sphere is lacking with civic activism towards piled up public issues? What is the role of new media, which should, unlike the classic, mass ones, offer new possibilities of interaction? In BiH is noticeable a huge disproportion between time spent on social networks in forming and distributing opinions, stands, and public opinions; versus time spent in civic activism; towards established opinions on the network. With the process of forming public opinion, a form of communication is crucial, one that the public can relate to and form by spontaneously, but also as a manipulated group. Once activated, such public gathers around the wrong things. As a result, mass, true action in the public sphere has become active passivity on social networks.
